On a windy night in early spring, in a small pub on Ireland’s
west coast, a pair of regulars take their evening pint. An
acquaintance of theirs comes in – with a young woman down from
Dublin. She is apparently buying a house locally to ‘get
away’ from something unspoken.
Sharp banter and rivalry between the men leads to each telling a
chilling tale of supernatural happenings they have experienced in the
area. They might be trying to impress the newcomer, but she tells a
story that caps the lot. The evening changes her, and in a subtle and
touching manner it gives promise of a new beginning for one of the
others.
