When barrister-cum-writer Henry is approached to co-write a film about
marriage, his wife Katherine is less than thrilled with his plan to
base it on their own, rather feisty, relationship. As Henry’s
collaborator Sam, an American with vague movie connections, unwarily
steps between the two, and pretty young lawyer Griselda enters the
picture, the alliances and allegiances among the characters shift.
An acidly funny, near-the-knuckle script spiced with wit, banter and
occasional strong language, Collaborators owes a great
deal to John Mortimer’s own combative first marriage. It
examines what can pull a couple apart and what really binds them
together
