When Annie’s husband John dies of leukaemia she and her best
friend Chris manage to persuade fellow WI members to pose nude with
them for an ‘alternative’ calendar to raise money. The
rest is, pretty much, history. Their story will make you laugh (a
lot), cry (a bit) and leave the theatre feeling warm, happy and
satisfied.
Based on a true story, this hugely successful stage version of one of
the noughties’ most popular films is about friendship, stubbornness
and how a decision to do something really different can blossom into a
nationwide movement that has, so far, raised hundreds of thousands of
pounds towards cancer research.
