Beauty and the Beast is the story of a selfish, greedy and vain prince who struggles to show love and affection to others. When he refuses to help an unattractive old beggar woman leaving her out in the cold, he becomes cursed by a spell that turns him into an ugly Beast. The only way the curse can be broken is for the Beast to learn to love, and to be loved in return. When the innocent and beautiful young Belle agrees to remain a prisoner at his castle in exchange for her father’s freedom, the Beast soon realises what love is – but will she be the one to break the spell?

This stage version is based on Disney’s 1991 interpretation of the French fairy tale by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont, published in 1756. It features familiar songs from the film including the much-loved title song and the showstopping Be Our Guest.
