Getting involved in Box Office
Box Office

The Box Office is based in the theatre’s foyer and it is where customers purchase and collect tickets and can sign up for membership.

How it works

The box office is open on all main house performance nights, and for two working days prior to a main house show opening. For studio shows, it is open on performance nights only.

The team arrives at 6.45pm to print off all the pre-sold tickets and file them ready for collection. From 7pm until the end of the interval, we are open for audience members to purchase, or collect pre-purchased, tickets. During busy performances the workload can become very demanding. Patience and a calm composure are key attributes required, and this is rewarded through a strong bond with the other members of the team and an early finish (just after the interval). Full training is given on the booking system, and experienced box office staff are always on hand to advise when needed.

Commitment and reward

Working as a member of the box office team does not require you to be there every night of the production and so is one of the most flexible departments to work in. If you can support the team by taking a position once or even twice a production, you will enjoy meeting our audience members as well as all the people involved in the show. Working here helps you to meet new people with similar interests and build your confidence, and is a positive and rewarding experience. You will become known around the theatre which can help you if you are interested in working in the other departments too.
