Kathy Crawshaw and the team are helping young people develop
communication and theatre skills within a friendly and supportive
workshop environment.
Our policy offers places regardless of experience in the belief that
everyone can benefit from these sessions which aim to build confidence
and encourage teamwork through a variety of drama methods.
Held on Saturday mornings, each workshop contains an element of voice
work, movement, mime and improvisation, culminating in a
‘sharing’ and discussion of work produced. Scripted work
and play writing are also encouraged, especially when working towards
public performance.

Each year there are two public performances: a Christmas Open Morning
and a concert in the the Summer Term. Whenever possible, workshop
members are encouraged to audition for roles in Loft Theatre Company
productions and there are occasional opportunities to audition for the
RSC and BBC. Members of Groups 4 & 5 may enter for LAMDA Group
Devised Performance exams.
NB: This is a privately run workshop and not a drama group connected
to the theatre. Places are limited but we will endeavour to
accommodate keen applicants wherever possible, following an interview
and trial session. Occasional visitors can be welcomed, preferably
with prior notice, for a pro-rata fee.
